FAQ

Questions

Which TVs does it work with?

Google TV and Android TV sets and boxes that support the official Android TV remote pairing. It has been tested on a Haier MatrixTV running Android TV 14.

Do I need a Google account or an internet connection?

No. The phone talks to the TV directly over your home Wi-Fi. Nothing goes through a cloud server.

Do I need to install anything on the TV?

Not for the remote. For the live TV picture, touch control, app install and TV info the phone app installs a small companion on the TV for you, once. A free Downloader app is the fallback.

Can it turn the TV on?

Yes, on TVs that keep their network on in standby. The app tries several wake methods in turn and shows a one-time guide with a wake test.

iPhone?

Android first. iPhone is planned.

Put the remote down.

Two small apps: the remote on your phone, and a companion on the TV for the live picture, touch control and app installs. Google Play listing coming.
